Experience:
After clerking with us for a year, Rebecca S. Kane joined the firm as an attorney in 2010. Ms. Kane’s practice focuses primarily on business and real estate litigation, but she also has experience in general civil litigation. Ms. Kane has represented clients in all areas of real estate matters including zoning, licensing and permitting, commercial and residential leasing, condominium law, and environmental law. She has also been involved in the representation of businesses and consumers in actions based on contract and consumer protection. Ms. Kane has experience with the formation of various business entities, as well as contract drafting and reviewing.
Litigation:
Licensed to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Ms. Kane is admitted to practice before the United District Court of Massachusetts and all state courts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Education:
Ms. Kane attended Boston College, and received her B.A. from the school in History in 2007. During her four years at Boston College, she was a member of the school’s Honors Program, and she completed a thesis in her fourth year which received Honors Distinction. Ms. Kane graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in 2010, and in 2008 she received the school’s Jurisprudence Award for achieving the highest grade in her Torts class. While at Suffolk, Ms. Kane was a staff member and editor of the school’s Journal of High Technology Law.
Community:
Ms. Kane is originally from Derry, NH, and she resides currently in Newton, MA. Ms. Kane has volunteered at the South Coastal Legal Services Clinic, and has worked as an intern for the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, White Collar Crime Unit. Ms. Kane is an avid runner and bicyclist, and has completed several marathons and races for charity. While at Boston College she was a member of the Varsity Women’s Rowing Team, and a dancer/choreographer for the Dance Organization of Boston College.

Ms. Kane is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the New Hampshire Bar Association.
